ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Members of the Flint Riverkeeper got together on Saturday to discuss ongoing issues with the Flint River.
Its part of their annual meeting they hold for folks near the southern part of the watershed.
Executive Director Gordon Rogers says right now one of their biggest issues is flow.
“And of course that's part of the big argument between Georgia and Florida, but its also an issues for the citizens of the Flint. And what we have basically seen is a permitting agency that has given out too many permits for the system,” says Gordon Rogers, Executive Director of the Flint Riverkeeper.
He's says the river is pretty clean.
They do have some spots that are polluted, but they're working on cleaning them up.
