Moody's 23rd Maintenance Group has a new commander

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, GA (WALB) - A new commander took over the 23rd Maintenance Group at Moody Air Force Base Thursday morning.

Col. Shane Barrett took command from Col. Jeffery Decker, who was leaving to take over as Logistics Director for the KC-46 program at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

Col. Barrett said he hoped to carry on the success that the maintenance group had achieved over the two and a half years they were under Col. Decker's command.

"I will do everything I can to be worthy of you and your mission as we move forward these next two years," said Col Barrett. "Overall, we as a maintenance team will do our best to provide safe, quality maintenance to produce combat power whenever we're called to do so."

Col. Barrett comes to Moody from RAND Project Air Force in California.
