TIFTON, GA (WALB) - A week after that tragic church attack in Charleston, South Carolina people came together at a church in Tifton Wednesday night to remember those who lost their lives.
Allen Temple AME Church held a memorial and prayer service Wednesday for the victims.
Members from multiple churches and different denominations took part.
The lit a candle for each of the 9 victims reach information about all of them... sang hymns and prayed.
Church members say it's important for people to keep their faith through tragedy and believe it will unite the entire Christian community.
"Righteousness will always prevail and we will never compromise our principles and our beliefs in Jesus Christ, no matter what evils or difficulties we have to face," said Marilyn Burks, Administrative Asst.
Officers from the Tifton Police Department were also in attendance.
