AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Security is being boosted after burglars broke into the office at an Americus cemetery twice in the last month.
Most recently Monday night, burglars came in through the window and stole a computer. About two weeks ago they took the monitor, and city officials think it could be the same person.
They installed new motion detectors to help protect the office.
"It's a computer that probably wouldn't pawn for very much. It was a very basic model and we are probably going to replace it with a laptop that way the clerk can take it home and we won't have to worry about it being left here over night," said Ben Andrews, Community Development Director.
Andrews says they keep serial numbers on file in case the equipment turns up at any pawn shops.
