Albany Police warn of residential burglaries

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Police are asking residents to be on alert after a string of residential burglaries over the past two weeks.

According to a report, 15 televisions were taken during home burglaries in East Albany between June 6 and June 19.

Officials urged residents to report suspicious vehicles and people they see in their area.

They also asked people to secure any items left outside, and recommend that washers, dryers, yard tools, lawn equipment, and bicycles be put away or secured in a shed.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is urged to call police.

Albany Police said officers were directed to monitor the following areas:

800 Block of Mercedes Drive

Transvilla Parkway

1100 block of Van Deman Street

Dobbs Drive

1000 block of Crawford Drive

900 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive

500 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive

1300 block of E. 1st Avenue

900 block of Hobson Street

300 block of Collins Street

1500 block of E. Residence Street

100 block of Collins Street

1300 block of E. Broad Avenue

900 block of Inverness Road

1500 block of Cromartie Beach

1700 block of Cromartie Beach

2000 block of N. Riverview Circle

1900 block of S. Skylane Drive

300 block of Elsom Street

2100 block of Clark Avenue

300 block of Johnson Road

600 block of Woodhaven Lane

2000 block of Tompkins Avenue

    Several Albany churches are joining hands this week to end violence through prayer by hosting a continued tent revival tour in areas of high crime.  Fisherman of Men for Christ and five other churches will have a tent-gathering starting Monday, until Friday on the corner of West Whitney and Jefferson Street.
