This is the first day on the job for Albany's new fire chief.
Ron Rowe spent most of the day meeting with firefighters to set the agenda for his administration.
The 29-year veteran rose through the ranks of the Albany Fire Department.
Rowe says the department has been doing a good job, and he wanted it to continue.
"There is no really big changes going to happen, said Rowe." "Everything is going well. There is going to be some tweaks here and there of course, just because everybody does things a little different. But no real big changes."
Rowe replaces James Carswell who retired Friday after 10 years as chief.
