Albany man arrested with pink princess backpack full of drugs

Tuesday Albany Dougherty Drug Agents arrested a man some are calling the "Pink Princess Backpack dealer."

Agents say they 28 year old Ricky Edwards sped away in his 1997 Lincoln when Albany Dougherty Drug Unit agents tried to make a traffic stop in the Cromartie Beach Road area.

After his car spun out, the driver ran into some bushes where a fence blocked his path.

Agents used a taser to take him into custody.

Inside the car, agents found a "Pink Princess Backpack" loaded with marijuana, crack and powder cocaine, and 86 ecstasy pills.

They say  Edwards was trying to be a one stop shop for drug users.

ADDU Field Supervisor Captain Eddie Jones said "He had marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy, as well.  So he had several different types of drugs.  So that would indicate that he is a significant player."

Agents also seized more than 900 dollars and charged Edwards with 12 drug possession and traffic charges.
