Albany woman says she is being harassed by scammers

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany woman said she's being targeted by scammers.

Gwen Poole said she received a call last month, and Tuesday from a number claiming she won a $1000 gift certificate and $500 worth of gas from Walmart, but that she had to pay $6.97 to claim her prize.

Poole said she didn't give them any information and called Walmart and police.

She now wants to warn others about the scam.

"I'm disabled and I don't want nobody else to be caught up with this. If they're like me, they are living month to month paycheck and they can't afford their six dollars and something cents. It's not much but it is a whole bunch when you living payday payday," said Gwen Poole Targeted by Scammers.

If you think you are being targeted by scammers you should call police.
