Change has come to Albany and Dougherty County as we say farewell to three dedicated public servants.
Major Bill Berry with the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit, Fire Chief James Carswell, and Jim Vaught, Deputy Director of the Albany-Dougherty Emergency Management Agency are retiring.
Carswell and Berry both have over 40 years of service in firefighting and law enforcement respectively.
Vaught served as Deputy EMA director for eight years after retiring from the United States Marine Corps.
All three have excelled in their efforts to make Albany-Dougherty County a better place to work and live.
We congratulate them, wish them well, and say “Thank you” for a job well done!
