Albany woman grateful to Moultrie doctor for filing complaint

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Moultrie doctor, who filed a complaint against Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, claiming they violated the privacy rights of an Albany woman who was wrongly charged with murder finally heard back from her today.

Dr. Clyde Lamon said he got a call from Kenlissia Jones's brother thanking him for filing the complaint on behalf of his sister. Later in the day he got a call from Jones herself who was also appreciative of his support.

“I'm gratified that they were appreciative of what I'd done so I just explained to her that again I tried to get in touch with her before I filed the complaint. Since I didn't have contact information I went ahead and filed it on her behalf,” said Dr. Clyde Lamon.

Last week, Lamon was contacted by a lawyer from the National Advocates for Pregnant Women; they could not confirm to us if they're providing legal counsel to the Jones family.

Albany Police originally charged Kenlissia Jones with murder, after determining she took an abortion pill that killed her fetus.

The charges were later dropped.
