ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The United Way of South Georgia celebrated the end of their 2014 campaign.
They exceeded their goal of more than a million dollars.
Officials say this is the first time they've exceeded their goal in a number of years.
" It's very exciting to know that we exceeded the campaign goal. Because those dollars go back into the community to help non-profits that are doing amazing work here. It also lets us know that donors trust where their dollars are going when they give to the United Way and they also like the return on the investment," Lakisha Bryant Bruce President and CEO
Awards were also given out to Belk, Georgia Power, Phoebe and other contributors to the campaign.
