AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Sumter County Sheriff Pete Smith tells WALB that Patrick Hester was caught early this morning at the landfill in Taylor County.
Hester was only months away from completing his sentence for meth possession when he jumped off a Sumter Correctional Institute prison truck, and took off running in to Sumter County.
Sumter Co. Sheriff Pete Smith said 31-year-old Patrick Wayne Hester is from Grady County.
"He's destined to get out in six months," said Sheriff Smith. "He may not know that... but he'll know it once we catch him. He's going to think how stupid he was when he done that."
