Woman injured in Worth Co. wreck upgraded to fair condition

WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

We've learned the Colquitt County woman injured in last week's crash that killed two people is in fair condition.

Linda Davis, of Hartsfield, was one of three people riding in a minivan that was hit by a dump truck Thursday at the intersection of Georgia Highways 133 and 112 in southern Worth County.

Thomas Davis and Sandy Duke both 73, and of Sale City were killed in the crash.

The state patrol said the minivan ran the stop sign at the intersection. Folks who grew up in the area say they always remain cautious when driving near this intersection known as "Shaklin's Corner."

Lauren Fallin travels through the area twice a day.

“If you drive from Sylvester 10 miles at 55 miles per hour and all of the sudden if you're tired and not paying attention, you hit rough spots in the road, and its too late, you don't realize there is a stop sign here, it's too late and there's a chance your gonna t-bone someone at this intersection,” said Lauren Fallin, concerned resident.

She said she would like to see the caution light put back up.
