SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Construction is underway for a new Splash Park in Sylvester.
Debbie Bridges, the City Manager, says crews started this week clearing land in the 200 block of West Kelly Street for the park.
The $300,000 park will be equipped with water equipment for children, picnic tables and restrooms.
Bridges says the Mayor and City Council wanted to provide a fun place for families.
"There's not a lot of activities going on so we had visited the splash park in Ashburn and they had a really good response from theirs, so our council had been looking at it actually for a year or two," said Debbie Bridges, Sylvester City Manager.
Construction is expected to be done by July 25th.
Bridges hopes the park will open August 1st.
