Learning to be a storm spotter

February 10, 2005

Homerville - South Georgians are learning how to help in stormy situations.

Clinch county held a storm spotter training course at the shooting range at the airport Thursday night. A representative from the National Weather Service was on hand to teach people how storms develop, and what to do when they see one coming.

"Its best to have somebody out there at the ground level actually observing and reporting what's going on before it gets toward a residential area or where somebody lives," said Larry Morrell.
