Moultrie police capture two suspected burglars

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Two suspected burglars are in the Colquitt County Jail.

After a break-in in the 500 block of 3rd Street Northwest Wednesday just after 9 p.m. Moultrie Police tracked down a Silver Dodge Ram truck hauling a china cabinet and A/C unit that was stolen from the vacant home.

Passenger James Spradley ran twice from police but was eventually caught.

The driver David Williams told police Spradley just told him he needed help moving some things.

"So he gave the gentlemen a ride and helped him move some stuff. He indicated that he was unaware that it was a burglary. He thought that the guy had permission to get the items. The guy told him that he was working there, working with the people doing some carpentry work,” said Inv. David Jones Moultrie Police.

Police found the back door of the home was forced open.

Williams and Spradley are charged with burglary.
