Georgia children can win money and get a head start on college by reading this summer.
Lee County's Oakland Public Library kicked off the "Every hero has a story sweepstakes." This is the 6th year the path 2 college 529 plan and public library service have worked together to encourage kids to read and remind parents and grandparents to start saving for college early.
Cassandra Sherill with Path2college says, "They can enter to win up to $5,549 dollars into a path2college 529 plan to be used later on for higher education." Wendy Cornelisen is the assistant state librarian and says, "Kids who read during the summer are ready to learn when they go back to school in the fall."
