Farming test plots educate farmers and the public

Workers at the Sunbelt Ag Expo are busy taking care of "test plots" of corn, cotton, and soy beans

They have a 600 acre working research farm they care of year round.

Right now, they're getting ready for next month's field tour during which farmers can see the latest technology in GPS, irrigation, and fertilizing.

Farm Site Manager Michael Chafin says it's a great way to educate farmers and the general public.

“Its important that we educate our farmers so that they can be better conservators, and they can be better stuarts of our natural resources, we educate our young people that are coming up into agriculture,” says Farm Site Manager Michael Chafin.

The Sunbelt Field Day will be July 9th.
