COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) - The Douglas community will hold a vigil to remember a Coffee High School football star who lost his battle with cancer.
A candlelight service will be held Friday night for Malik Sparkman who died in May.
A scholarship fund has been started to keep his legacy alive.
Vigil organizers encourage folks to wear their black Malik Sparkman t-shirts and bring their own candles.
"We would like for everybody to come out and pay tribute to Malik and if you have something that you would like to say please do so," said Karleen Evans, Vigil organizer.
Friday's vigil will start at 8 o'clock at Jardine Stadium.
