THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -  A Thomasville man is in jail after turning himself in following a weekend shooting.

Rico Coleman, 29, is charged with aggravated assault.

Investigators believed he shot 29-year-old Frederick Diggs Saturday morning around 5 a.m. on West Calhoun Street.

Diggs was rushed to the hospital, where he is still recovering after surgery.

Lieutenant Maurice Holmes with the Thomasville Police Department said, “He's still in stable condition at the hospital. Luckily for him, the round didn't fragment and tear up any organs inside him.”

Police are now trying to locate the gun.
