ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany woman is recovering after throwing herself from her SUV, which crashed off the bypass.
State troopers say around 12:20 pm Tuesday Tiffani Primus was driving west on the Liberty Bypass near Jefferson Street when she lost control, hit a guardrail and some road signs. The 19 year-old was unable to gain control of her Jeep so she jumped out after it slowed down.
She landed in the road, then the jeep crossed the median and eastbound lanes and crashed into a fence and some trees.
A witness was able to stop traffic in the westbound lanes to prevent Primus from being hit.
Primus was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was charged with failure to maintain lane.
