Police still working to identify homicide suspect

Valdosta Police continued Monday to try to figure out who shot and killed 25 year old Marquivius Brockington in his home Friday night.

Brockington came home around 11:45 p.m. Friday and went inside where he was confronted by the suspect, who police said had broken in, likely to try to steal marijuana and meth, which were found in the home.

Brockington's girlfriend, Toni Tucker, arrived a few minutes later and heard shouting, then gunshots, and then someone ran out of the home and fired shots at her as they ran away.

"We have some names we're looking at. I won't call them suspects. I'll call them person's of interest, but again, we've had a lot of names out there so I'm willing to say anybody's a suspect right now," said Valdosta Police Chief Brian Childress.

Chief Childress would not specify Monday how the suspect broke into Brockington's home or how the suspect came to the home.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Valdosta Police Department at 229-293-3091.
