Candlelight vigil for 11-year-old Na'im Boykin

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - "I can't really say that its a happy moment,"

Dozens of people in Thomasville came together to remember 11-year-old Na'im Boykin.

Organizers say they want to show support for the family who is going through a tough time.

Boykin, who attended Harper Elementary school, was spending time with his father, when they went to the beach, and he was swept out into the water on little Talbot Island in Jacksonville Florida.

"In order to show love and support for a family who has really had a tragedy and we just want them to know as they mourn, we are mourning with them," says Organizer Mamie Linton.

Supporters sang songs, prayed, and read poems in Boykin's honor.
