Regional art on exhibit at Thronateeska

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The 16th annual Southwest Georgia Regional Fine Art Exhibition opened Thursday night at Thronateeska Heritage Center.

More than 100 pieces of art submitted by 60 artists will be on display through June 20th.

Registration fees will be divided up into cash prizes for the contest winners.

"A show like this allows an artist who is kind of playing with their trade or just interested in doing something different a way to show one or two pieces of their work in a professional setting and then of course there's the possibility of prize money so that's always nice,” said Nicole Williams, Executive Director.

The top prize for Best in Show is $300.
