BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - What started out as a one-day project turned into an entire week of construction.
Bainbridge homeowners contacted city hall after flooding from heavy rain a few months ago.
City workers discovered College Street's storm sewer junction box needed to be replaced to prevent more damaging floods and drainage issues.
Assistant City Manager Roy Oliver said, “By pouring the walls and doing it ourselves, we've saved several thousands of dollars than having to call and get these structures cast, and then poured, and delivered. We saved time and money by doing it this way.”
Workers predict the construction will be finished by Friday, once they repave the road.
