Camp Arrow continues to help kids with special needs

A Berrien County camp was continuing its tradition Thursday of helping children with special needs experience the joy of going to Summer camp.

For six days, seven to 14 year olds with special needs get to come to Camp Arrow and sing, do arts and crafts, cook, and other traditional Summer camp activities.

The camp's co-coordinator, Susan Esra, said it takes all year to plan this camp but it's always worth it. "We try to provide activities like kids would do at any other camp. We just accommodate them so that all the kids can participate," Esra explained. "The kids are fantastic. They are so special and they all just contribute in their own way."

Camp was scheduled to wrap up Friday.
