ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police said their Clean Car Campaign is working.
Police said taking valuable items out of your car is having an impact in decreasing car burglaries.
Albany police said there's 12.2 percent decrease in car burglaries since the campaign started a year ago.
There was 894 car burglaries between 2013 to 2014 and 797 car burglaries in 2014 to 2015.
Albany police have actively gone out in the communities handing out clean car mirror hangers and reminding people to lock their doors and take valuables out of their car.
Although the campaign is working, they still want to remind citizens to lock their doors and remove all valuables.
