A three day church conference is giving Tifton's economy a big boost.
United Methodists from across South Georgia are meeting at the UGA conference center for their annual conference.
Nearly 1,400 delegates are attending, representing 620 churches.
In addition to taking care of church business, they're eating at Tifton restaurants, staying at local hotels and filling up at gas stations.
"The economic impact on the Methodist church coming here for three or four days will be in the millions. Average tourists you know spends about $126 a day when they visit a town so we're excited about it," said Tyron Spearman, the Tifton Tourism Coordinator.
The conference wraps up Friday.
