THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -  A Thomasville teenager is facing aggravated assault charges after police said he stabbed another teen with a kitchen knife.

Police said a fight between the two teenage boys began last weekend at the suspect's home on South Street.

The fight continued at the victim's home down the street.

Police said that's when the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.

Lt. Maurice Holmes said, “It was significant enough to where it required surgery. The victim did go through surgery on the night of the incident.  At this time, he has been released from the hospital.”

The teen admitted to stabbing the victim.

He's since been released from custody to his guardian.
