Albany restaurant to support law enforcement with free food

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Moe's in Albany is hoping you'll help them support law enforcement.

In the wake of negative publicity towards police, owner Mac Hare made tomorrow Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Ten percent of sales will be donated to the Georgia COPS Foundation, which supports families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

And all law enforcement with ID will get a free entree and drink.

"It's just something we wanted to do and we wanted to do it quick," said Owner Mac Hare in Albany. "So we went ahead and we've been working on it for about 6 weeks, but we needed to get it done because we want to make sure all the police know that there is somebody who supports them."

"Cops rock" t-shirts will be sold for $8, and children can score some free trinkets.

Hare hopes to make this an annual event.
