DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - Douglas Police officers got in a foot chase with Tony McCullers Sunday night after two people accused him of attacking them, but he got away.

Police say when he tried to attack them the second time, they went after him, but he got away again.

Barbara Crews and Corey Dent told police they were walking along North Patterson Avenue just before 2:00AM, when McCullers hit Crews in the head with a bamboo stick.

Dent said McCullers tried to come after him, and they got into a fight, before Crews and Dent could get away from McCullers.

At 4:40 that morning, Crews and Dent told police someone they thought to be McCullers shattered the window of the hotel where they were staying. Police were looking for McCullers when they heard gunfire.

Corey Dent said that McCullers came up and threatened them, and that's when Dent fired his gun, but did not hit him.

About four hours later, DPD caught site of Tony McCullers near Redbird Trail and Circle Drive. This time, they were able to get him hemmed up, and arrested.

McCullers is in the Coffee County jail, charged with battery, family violence, and criminal damage to property, stalking, family violence, obstruction, and criminal trespass.
