ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The pool at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany is now open.
Today club members enjoyed a swim at the Jefferson Street location.
As part of their summer program they're offering "Learn to Swim" classes to members and other organizations.
Water Safety Instructors along with four Life Guards will be at the pool.
Officials say water safety is their top priority.
"We're just looking to have a fun safe summer," said Marvin Laster, Assistant Chief Professional Officer. "Making sure that water safety is our first priority in teaching young people the basic water safety skills that they need to survive should they run into any incidents when they are around water. That's our primary concern in making sure that these kids are having fun."
The pool will be open to the public Monday through Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. for 50 cents a day.
