DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -  A school uniform clothing drive is underway for Dougherty County children in need.

WZBN, Praise 105.5 FM kicked off the clothing drive Friday.

They're collecting new or gently used polo shirts and khaki pants or skirts, which follow the elementary school dress code.

They're also accepting new socks, belts and undergarments.

Organizers said new clothes can help improve self-esteem, which can then help their education.

Morning Show Host Cecillia Morris said, “There are children that don't have. So we've already identified them, that's why we're asking for the collection of these uniforms now so that we can size them up and get them to the appropriate areas so these children can go back to school feeling good about themselves."

The drive goes until June 19th.

You can drop off clothes at their station at the Albany Towers, Suite 204 or at two upcoming events.
