World No Tobacco Day ahead

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

World No Tobacco Day is Sunday May 31st. It is a global initiative to bring awareness to the dangers of tobacco products.

The cancer coalition of south georgia says over 6 million people globally die each year from smoking, and 600,000 die from second hand smoke.

Smoking is the number one preventable death world wide.

The long term affects of e cigarettes are still unknown and usage among teens has tripled. A task force has been formed to push the FDA to create regulations on e cigarettes that currently do not have any.
