THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -  Some kids in Thomasville will soon spend a week learning life-saving lessons from Police officers.

Every summer, the Safe-T-Ville program teaches five to seven year olds about fire safety, gun safety, bike safety, and more.

They get to see K9 officers in action and even get to go inside a smoke house.

Officer Dominic Ford said, “We really want to be interactive.  Especially with the five to seven year olds, that's a lot of energy so we want to keep them busy.  We'll tell them about it then we'll do a lot of different activities. Just to make sure that they're actually grasping the concepts.”

Each child will be issued a personal license after completing the program.

The first session begins Monday, June 1 at 9:00 a.m.

There's still time to sign up.  Call Officer Ford at 229-227-4149 or Major Eric Hampton at 229-393-3153.
