ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two Albany biker buddies are forever connected, because of an organ transplant.

Jessie Blanchard and Jason Akins worked together, and both enjoy motorcycles.

After Jason posted on Facebook three years ago that he needed a kidney, Jessie discovered she was a match.

After overcoming some hurdles Jason finally got Jessie's Kidney last month.

"It just meant that he would finally get a chance to lead a normal happy life," said Jessie Blanchard, kidney donor.

"We jokingly say a lot that we even share DNA now, so we're definitely related," said Jason.

Jessie wants to encourage more people to donate kidneys. You can learn more by calling 1-855-EMORYTX (366-7989.)
