THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A man who mentored children is behind bars, after investigators say he admitted molesting a child for several years.
Rico Walker was arrested Thursday, after Thomas County Sheriff's investigators received a complaint from a mother. Her child provided enough evidence for deputies to question and arrest Walker.
A few years ago, Walker founded a non-profit organization called Relief from the Streets, with a goal to provide positive role models for young men in the community.
"Our concern is that he was mentoring young people and that now he has been charged with the mistrust of a young person," said Thomas County Sheriff's Lieutenant Tim Watkins.
Watkins says they will continue to investigate to find out if there are more victims.
