Brunswick woman arrested for road rage in Valdosta

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Brunswick woman remained behind bars Tuesday accused of throwing ice cream at a car in the middle of the street and then threatening the passenger.

Police said around 4:30 Monday afternoon, 25 year old Ianna Lecounte was upset that the car in front of her was going slower so when she pulled up next to the car at the intersection of Patterson and Gordon St. she got out and confronted the driver.

"She actually, I think, had somethin', ice cream or somethin', and threw it at the driver's side door. That's when the passenger of that vehicle stepped out of their vehicle and Mrs. Lecounte pulled a knife," explained Valdosta Police Department Lt. Aaron Kirk.

Lecounte's car was spotted in the 2800 block of N. Ashley in Valdosta about two hours later and she was subsequently arrested.

Lecounte's two year old child was also in her car at the time of the road rage incident, so Lecounte was, as of Tuesday, charged with aggravated assault, cruelty towards children, and a child restraint violation.
