Murder suspect brought from NY to Albany

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Police say a man wanted for murder has been returned to Albany, after he was captured in New York, in late April.

29-year-old Marquel Rashard Culpepper,  known as "Chad" was wanted for felony murder, aggravated assault, and other charges.

Those charges came in the wake of the shooting death of 38-year-old Kendrick Miller.

Police said Miller was gunned down in front of the America's Best Value Inn in Albany on April 16th.

The motel's manager said Miller was shot without warning. He also said Miller was from New York, but stayed at the motel often.

Culpepper did not fight extradition to Georgia to face his charges, and is in the Dougherty County jail today, where he was denied bond.
