ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Department of Natural Resources officers were out on the lake all day making sure boaters followed the rules.
They want boaters to be aware of each other all summer and to be careful not to capsize their boats.
"Capsizing the vessel is caused by over loaded vessels. There's a coast guard capacity plate on every vessel," said Corporal Bob Holley, DNR.
Those plates are usually on the side of a boat.
DNR rangers also urge you not to drink and drive and to use life vests.
