ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Veterans State Park officials said this weekend was a busy one.
More than 7, 500 visitors enjoyed the festivities at Lake Blackshear between Friday and today.
That's typical for a holiday weekend.
Many families spent their time cooking out and swimming on the public beach.
"On Saturday and Sunday we had a blow up water slide and a blow up obstacle course for the children down in our public swimming area. We've had all of our shelters rented so the families can have their reunions. We have kayaks, canoes and we now have paddle boards for rent so we had those out this weekend. We do stand up paddling now," said Amanda Sayles, Activities Coordinator.
Officials are now gearing up for the July 4th fireworks show.
