VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta gas stations near I-75 said Monday that the holiday weekend had actually been a little slower than in 2014.

Going into the weekend, AAA was forecasting a more than five percent increase nationwide in people driving to holiday destinations over Memorial Day weekend in 2015 compared to 2014.

Chaudhry Iqvbar, Owner of the Citgo station off of exit 18, said it was still been a busy weekend for them though.

<"[It's been a] little slow, not like last year. Last year was more busy, but it is busy," Iqvbar explained.

He said gas prices going up over for about three months leading up to Memorial Day slowed business down.
