VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Protesters in Valdosta are demanding Lowndes High School give Kendrick Johnson a posthumous diploma at the 2015 graduation ceremony.
Johnson was found dead in a rolled up gym mat at the school in January 2012.
The Atlanta group "commUNITY Atlanta" and others were at the school Saturday morning during the school's graduation holding signs that read "Stop the violence," "What if it were your child," and "Justice for our angel."
The Valdosta Police Department and Georgia State Patrol assisted with security.
WALB News 10 at 6 p.m. will have more on the protests.
