ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two Albany attractions are taking part in an initiative that honors active duty military.
The Flint RiverQuarium and Thornateeska Heritage Center are among nearly 2,000 Blue Star Museums nationwide.
They'll offer free admission to active duty military personnel, including National Guard and Reserve troops and their families from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
"It's tough to serve our country in the military," said Vicki Churchman, Flint Riverquarium Operations Manager. "Families are separated for long periods of time. They just have stressors in their life that other folks don't have and this is just one small way that we can show how much we appreciate active duty military."
Military personnel must bring their military ID's to take advantage of the free admission.
