ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Georgia needs more Foster parents.

17% of the more than 75,000 children in the foster system end up in group homes or institutions.

Necco Foster care in Albany now supports 37 foster families in South Georgia.

Leaders say there is a growing need for more foster parents.

"Even during the hard days there's a little bit of a reward and at the end of the day it's about the children and when you look down and you see these little kids faces and they've grown,” said Staci Sexton, Case Manager. “No words can put on that just how amazing that is to see."

Necco currently serves 74 children and has had several cases that led to adoptions.

You can become a foster parent by contacting Necco at 229-299-5095.
