AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - An Americus man is in jail after police say he threw a brick through a grocery store window.

Police say Cleveland Wilbon smashed out the front window at Rubo's on Adderton Street.

The burglar walked to a nearby cash register and shook it before giving up and walking back out of the store.

He was arrested a short distance away from the store.

"He did not take anything from the store. I guess he was looking for money; but it's going to cost probably 2,000 or 2,500 to get the window fixed, but I'm glad they caught him," Geraldine Reddish, Rubo's Assistant Manager.

Wilbon was given a 10,000 bond on burglary and criminal damage charges.
