The Brooks County School District was reminding families Tuesday that time was running out to sign up for summer school programs.

The school district was asking that kids be signed up by the last day of school, which is Friday, May 22nd.

The school district planned to offer summer school programs for students at North Brooks Elementary and Brooks County Middle and High Schools.

The programs were scheduled to include academic work as well as things like cooking and athletics. "We're very excited about the fun activities as well as the academic preparation," said Janie Jones, Brooks County Community Learning center Program Director.

"We usually are full for our Summer programs, so I would encourage parents to call as soon as possible.">

The programs are free or the students. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation to and from the programs will be offered. The programs were scheduled to run from June 1st through the 25th, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
