ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Monday at 6:30PM, Dougherty County Police say Bobby Smith was arguing with Lenwood Hudson over child custody issues, in the parking lot of Bill's Liquor Store, off U.S. 19.
DCP says that Smith pulled a gun out of his car, and placed it on the roof of his car, while they were arguing.
Hudson said he backed off, and Smith left the area. Smith was arrested later at his home on Flint Avenue for simple assault.
"The victim thought it was a real handgun, and place it on top of the roof of his vehicle. Of course the victim was scared, because he didn't know what he was going to do with the gun," said Chad Kirkpatrick of DCP.
Police say Smith turned himself in when he learned officers were looking for him, even admitting he knew what he had done was wrong.
Smith's wife has children with Hudson, and the argument was over child visitation.
