Southwest Georgia Regional Airport plans to improve surveillance system

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Southwest Georgia Regional Airport officials are fixing their parking lot surveillance system.

At Monday night's aviation commission meeting they discussed getting a software license activated to record and store footage.

They installed seven parking lot cameras 3-months ago but have no way to record the footage.

Officials said there haven't been any safety issues.

"So we definitely want to keep that area secured and under surveillance, just like we have the rest of the airport. We want to make it known that nothing has been compromised. No safety issues are out there. All the cameras are operational except for those out in the parking lot and we will have those fixed soon," said David Hamilton, Transportation Director.

The city's technology department is helping address the problem which they hope will be fixed in the next couple of days.
