Runner reacts to Boston Marathon bomber's death sentence

TIFT CO., GA (WALB) -  Tift County High School teacher Mike Beeman was on the marathon course when the bombs exploded two years ago.

He's been back the last two years and has run 38 Boston Marathons.

Beeman didn't have a strong personal opinion about what sentence should be handed down, but he understands those who are happy with the jury's decision.

Beeman said, “I'll tell you if my daughter was with me and she was at the finish line and God forbid she was hurt or killed, I might have different feelings. So, a little bit mixed to be honest with you.”

Beeman said he is worried the sentence could spur other radicals to try to carry out a terrorist attack.
